Ever since I began teaching, I always ran my writing workshop where students can use a personal dictionary. The original personal dictionary I used was missing many important words, it was an awkward to read form. I researched frequently misspelled words and added some important vocabulary words from various subject areas... My students love using it and there are spaces for them to include words that are important to them.
